Do you want to be on YouTube?  On Television?  In the Movies?

How many times have you seen a movie, TV show or YouTube video and thought, "Hey, I think I (or my child) can do that!"  Probably quite a bit!  And you are right!  All you lack is the knowledge and training to get from here to there!

In this week long workshop we will tackle the basics like how to audition, go over some of the terminology like how to "slate", what is a "cattle call", and how to do a "cold reading", as well a have fun filming a few things ourselves!

Remember, you don't have to move to Hollywood to be an actor.  There are many opportunities in our area if you are trained and ready for them!

When Disney Auditions come to town, will you be ready?

Almost every year, the ACTUAL Disney Chanel (not just companies who claim to cast people on their shows) comes to either San Antonio or Austin to audition kids from all over. Last year they came in July, but they have not yet released this year's schedule.  (Check Disneychannel.com/talentsearch for updates.)

Remember that MANY of the Disney Channel stars are from TEXAS:  Demi Lovato from Dallas (Camp Rock, Sonny With A Chance, Princess Protection Program, Hollywood Records)- Selena Gomez from Grand Prairie (Wizards of Waverly Place, Princess Protection Program, Hollywood Records)- Mitchel Musso from Rockwall (Hannah Montana, Phineus and Ferb, Walt Disney Records)- Debby Ryan from Keller (Jesse, The Suite Life On Deck)- Logan Miller from Dallas (I’m In The Band)- Jennifer Stone from Arlington (Wizards of Waverly Place)- Cody Linley from Lewisville (Hannah Montana).

This Spring Break, we will focus on the camera!

There are soooooo many things that we can do with cameras and editing today.  We will touch on a few key areas in front of and behind the camera including commercials, some fun "wacky" music videos and maybe even publish some things for our Acting Up YouTube Channel (click here to see it)!

Most of all, we will be creative and have fun!

Auditions for the Camera

Day 1 - Acting/Auditioning for the Camera

The first day we will focus on how to nail an audition.  We will play some fun games, and then learn some "tricks" on how to make sure you are ready for any audition that comes your way!

Wacky Music Videos

Day 3 - Wacky Music Videos

Let's have some FUN!  We will create our own fun Wacky music videos!  We will colaborate and come up with the craziest and funniest things we can!  Then we will edit them and see how they come out!  This should be CRAZY fun!

Film Commercials

Day 2- Film Commericials

Next we will work on some commercials.  We will work on commercials that have already been done and are on TV, as well as creating our own!  Who knows? We just might make the winner Doritos commercial and be shown at the next Superbowl!

YouTube and TV Shows

Day 4 and Day 5

YouTube Videos and TV Shows

Let's film!  We will create our own shows!  We will learn the difference between what it takes to be on YouTube and on Television.  We will talk about pilots and storyboards and editing, oh my!  Our creativity and imagination will be unleashed!
