Gene Stephens joined the Acting Up family in May of 2013, and is originally from Oklahoma, although she got to Texas just as quick as she could!   She is the proud mother of two grown daughters who call San Antonio home.

 

Gene is a lover of the arts and is quite artistic herself.  She enjoys several types of crafting, quilting and counted cross-stitch.  But her true passion is reading.  Gene always feels better when there is a book store close by.

 

Throughout her career she has worked in both industry and non-profit, as well as doing quite a bit of volunteer work.  She is and always has been very active in her church, even working on the church staff a time or two.

 

Gene loves the philosophy of helping kids grow into stronger adults, and feels the mission of Acting Up Creative Drama Academy is an important one.

 

Currently, Gene drives one of the Acting Up Vans and pick up students after school to transport them to the Academy, as well as being Acting Up's bookkeeper.
